“Rather than learning from a theoretical perspective alone, it is much easier for students to understand the effects of acoustical structures and treatments by creating and exploring realistic simulated examples. Because our students are studying Music Technology, the ability to hear auralization differences in ODEON Auditorium is very important. ODEON is central to our teaching of acoustic principles, but also to the development of skills in modelling, simulation, and analysis that are a key part of employment in the acoustics profession. Using the available tools, the students learn how to design high-quality spaces for musical performance, recording, and listening. Our teaching would not be as effective nor as engaging without ODEON.”
