ODEON has a powerful measurement systems for measurements of real rooms. Besides ODEON itself, you will need at least one speaker (in most cases omnidirectional) and a microphone. ODEON generates a sweep for the speaker, that is recorded in the room (or outside) and then recalculated into an impulse response. The Sine Sweep Method is the most effective way of measuring room acoustic while suppressing background noise, both from other sounds and the electronics itself.

Two Step Sound Source Calibration

The two step calibration in ODEON makes it easier/safer to calibrate the measurement system by adding a second step to the calibration in the laboratory and repeating this second step in-situ, just before the on-site measurements.

Onset and Truncation Time

Although ODEON automatically detects the onset and truncation times in an impulse response, it is often desirable to have manual control on these parameters. The measuring system in ODEON 13 allows such versatility.
