Odeon A/S is primarily a software company, making the ODEON software for measurements and simulations of room acoustics. We are based in Denmark.

What personal data we collect and why we collect it

User data

In order to use the website in full, and access all downloads, you need to register an account. This includes an e-mail address, password, and a username. It is optional to add first name and last name. The main reason you need to register is for us to avoid misuse of the website by robots.

Why we collect your data

In order to cope with our customer relationships in general and to meet our clients’ obligations, we require some information about you in your role as a customer contact or service user. Our goal with this is:

a) Offer programs and services that customers or potential customers have requested

b) Inform and present program and services that are closely related to the services and programs that the customer already uses

c) Perform deliveries in accordance with a customer agreement

d) Provide support to users of our programs and services

e) Improve the quality of our programs, services and website (s)

f) Detect and prevent security risks and perform maintenance and troubleshooting

g) Prevent abuse of our programs and services

h) Communicate information relevant to our deliveries in particular and our customer relations in general

i) Process orders, billing, payments and other financial follow-up of customers

j) Payment of programs and services purchased through Odeon A/S

k) To manage your access to our web-based services (cloud services)
Treatment according to the above purposes (a to j) is necessary for us to cope with our customer relations. Therefore, we do not request as a supplement for your consent to processing your personal data. We do not believe that processing will in any way affect you.
In addition, we also collect information about you as a contact person or user of a service for the following purposes:

The basis for our processing of personal data for the above purpose (l to n) is based on your voluntary consent. Your consent can be given freely on our website, where applicable. You will be informed of your rights in this context when you register in our online visit system.

Contact Forms

If you use the contact form, the information will be stored in our mail system. We only use it for communication about the questions asked and is kept for future further discussion on the subject. This information will not be shared with any 3rd parties.

Cookies, unrelated to log in, are used for track visitor statistics and for ad targeting on the different advertising platforms.

If you have an account and you log in to this site, we will set a temporary cookie to determine if your browser accepts cookies. This cookie contains no personal data and is discarded when you close your browser.

The user data will not be shared unless you choose to receive newsletters. Then we will share it with MailChimp, a newsletter automation platform, but no one else.

How Long we Retain Your Data

For users that register on our website, we store the personal information they provide in their user profile. All users can see, edit, or delete their own personal information at any time (except they cannot change their username). Website administrators can also see and edit that information. We retain your data until you actively remove it yourself or ask us to remove it.

Remember this only goes for information provided through our website. If you communicate with our sales department and place an order, you will be informed by another Privacy Policy for that area.

What Rights You Have Over Your Data

If you have an account on this site, you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us. You can also request that we erase any personal data we hold about you. This does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes. You can request data to be deleted by sending us a mail or use the contact form. If you delete your own account, we will not keep any data.

We do not take any right over the data given. No user data, nor things sent in the contact form, will be showcased anywhere.
