Here is a list of possible formats and type of files supported by ODEON:
Sketchup: we have created a plug-in called “SU2Odeon” for Trimble Sketchup which converts and saves the geometry directly in Odeon’s native .par format. The plug-in is available at no additional charge here.
Multiple CAD formats can be directly imported in ODEON: DXF, DWG, 3DS, STL, OBJ, PLY, CAD, STEP, IGES
IFC: since ODEON 18, IFC files can be imported directly into the software with all simplifications needed. The IFC import currently works only with Revit and Archicad. The diagram below illustrates all available ways to handle 3D models for use in ODEON:

If you currently don’t have a preferred CAD software, we recommend SketchUp due to its gentle learning curve and the SU2Odeon plugin, which allows to update the geometry in ODEON without losing your acoustic setup and also create SketchUp models from scratch, based on ODEON .par files
ODEON can handle quite large and complex rooms up to 2 kilometers in each dimension and a large number of surfaces. The only limit in the number of surfaces is imposed by the amount of RAM and the power of the PC. From our experience, rooms with up to 100,000 surfaces can be manageable, although some navigation functions may be slowed down. We recommend to simplify geometrical models, for easier navigation. Using many small surfaces violates our calculation assumptions. See our list of Modelling guidelines.
