Mozart's 40th Symphony in G minor in Musikverein, Vienna

Here you can listen to Mozart’s 40th Symphony played virtually in the concert hall Musikverein, in Vienna. The multi source auralisation is based on anechoic recordings from the Technical University of Denmark. The instruments are recorded individually in an anechoic chamber.

The auralisation was made for the conductor position and 4 audience positions (blue dots) as shown in the figure below. Additionally, for the first receiver position, auralisations were made for the string and wind sections, separately.

Below you may download an ODEON zip archive for the above example, which is a packaged ODEON model (for ODEON 15.15 Auditorium or Combined) containing all the necessary files to run it: material list, geometry, source and receiver placements, etc. ODEON zip archives may also contain the calculated jobs, however, the file below does not include the calculated jobs. You may find ODEON zip archives for other examples here.

To unzip an ODEON zip file:

  1. Launch ODEON
  2. Go to File > Zip > Unzip archive
  3. Select your downloaded ODEON zip file
  4. Select a folder to extract the files

ODEON will then automatically load the room.
